Characters

After we finished "The Dying of Ed Mees," we inspired Roberta, one of its vivid characters, to embark on an unusual but fascinating project: "Obits for Fun: Illustrated Reviews for Those Departed." Initially just a quirky idea, it quickly blossomed into Roberta's full-time passion. She dove into the world of obituaries, turning them into humorous, heartwarming stories of lives well-lived, all illustrated with her newfound love for watercolors. Roberta's journey transformed from simply writing and drawing into a celebration of life's diversity and eccentricities. Her illustrations brought laughter and light to the departed's tales, making us incredibly proud. "Way to go, Roberta!" we exclaimed, as she turned a side project into a career, showing us all the beauty and humor in commemorating lives with art and affection.
